Personal:

I am striving to be the best me I can be. For now, that means I'm going to college at BYU and attempting to walk on to their cross-country team for the fall. I am expecting to serve a mission following the end of the semester. My goal in life is to teach the deppressed how to geuninely smile, the anxious how to stand confident and courageous and the heartbroken and hopeless how to regain faith. The world would be a better place if more people learned how to love.

Finally back. To I don't think running wanted me back. That was less than enjoyable. And a stained niggle in my groin. #thestruggleisreal

The first 4 weren't incredibly enjoyable. Tight claves and it just felt awkward, but then running was comfortable again for the last 2. It was awesome. We even kicked it up the terrible. 3 hill we finished on. No niggling pain today.

Felt great. Started pretty comfortably with a solid group of 15-20 guys. Me and a few other brave soles went for it in the just half and started to drop the pace. Hitting the last mile off the dike trail at 6:45ish and then kicked it in. It felt so good to feel Smith and comfortable running fast. The Cedar team really has a lot of potential. #jointhemovement

Bike path narrows today. I hate that course. Slight pain on the outside of the ball of both feet.

Forgot my running shoes so I didn't run yesterday. Today was easy but I think I need new shoes my feet hurt. And my calves hurt.

Split the runs up cuz my feet so badly after the first and then did 3 in an even older pair of shoes. Surprisingly they worked. And my feet werent in half the pain they were in this morning, and that was a large step up from Saturday and Sunday. Calves are still tight. Stretched a bit. Might need a warm bath and a bit more stretching to ease the tension. This post just got long... The 3 miler in the afternoon was incredible. Besides the slight pain in my foot and slightly tight claves I've rarely felt so good. I kicked it in for fun in the last 200 meters of the hill up to my house and man, kicking's never felt so good or near as fast. Something clicked at state track.

Bridge run and then an extra 2. My feet hurt quite a bit the last 2 but the pain was nearly gone in the first 6. I'm gonna have to find another old pair of shoes for tomorrow's run. Calf tightness is pretty much gone. There's a tiny bit in my left calf.

Tried for 7 but strained something in my foot because I was running in rather old shoes. The pain on the outside of the ball of my foot seems to be getting better. I think. But running in old shoes has caused other aches in the muscles of my feet that scare me. I really need new shoes.

P. M. Played fugitive and ran another mile.

Junkyard and then 1 mile after. My muscle strain feels more like a nerve issue than an actual muscle issue. It hardly hurt today tho my arch on my right foot seems to be displaying signs of an arch injury. The outside of the ball of my foot continues to be an issue. I really think I just need new shoes.

Utah Summer Games 10k today. First 10k. My foot killed. I could hardly run before I got to the starting line. The race was nice, very down hill with some rollers around 3-4 miles and then the canyon trail. Spent most of the first half catching guys that had started at a dead out sprint because I kinda limped my way throught the first half mile or so. By 3 miles the pain was gone. I passed the leader at mile 4. I wanted to sit back and relax more and then kick but he was dyin. Thus I took the lead and endured to the finish. Last mile hurt a ton, but that's normal. The canyon trail was crazy easy today. It's never felt that way before. So yeah, slowish time but good for second week of training.

Was shooting for 45 miles this week but I decided against it because of the double race weekend. I'm so sore. Slow race. Didn't go all out and felt fine after. So that was fun

Felt great. Split into a 7 miler up home depot hill and a 3. Foot was in a lot of pain the last mile, but I get new shoes tomorrow!

In the morning I did 4 with the team. My foot wasn't agreeing with me again, but it was a solid 4 miles. Afternoon I got my new shoes. Altra instinct 2. It is the softest shoe I've ever worn. It stopped my feet from hurting but it's like my feet are eating sugar; it makes me want to run slow. They'll be good fit my feet and that's what matters right now.

Good run. I like the new shoes. We made a treaty half way through the run, and Mitchell (Germany) promptly broke it so WWII followed immediately. I (America) had to drop a nasty kick (nuke) to claim the victory for the allied troops so that was way fun. Tayson (Russia) and I might have to grind out a hard couple miles tomorrow ;) #xcisthebest #jointhemovement

Just a couple of easy miles. Small aches in the usual place at the end of both runs, although that is an improvement from last week.

I mean I think it was 10.... Idk I just ran a lot. Mostly in the trails in the cove. There aren't a ton of really good tails but it was still fun. Foot aching a little at the end of the 9.

Well that was intense. Background to the 2 runs. 5.5 hours of sleep kinda dehydrated and fried during the day today by the sun. No nap😛

A.M. The team attempted a pace run. I was supposed to take the top group of guys out at 5:45 pace (5k pace or so for them) It really wasn't supposed to be fast, but Cole took it out at 5:30 pace and Luke kept the pace through about a mile and a bit. Coach told me I could kick it in at the mile so I went for it. Dropped a 2:20ish I think for the last half mile. 7:44 for the 1.46 course (5:18 pace). Luke was a 7:52. We had an incredible number of guys under 8:30.

P.M. Coach said I could do a 3 mile tempo on the afternoon if I was feeling up to it. I thought I was though my body had a hard time getting used to the pace. It was on the usual course and the paces for the miles were 6:17, 5:55 and hi 5:40's respectively. Didn't finish the full 3 because I was hurting too much at the end and figured a nasty kick would do more harm then good especially since it's only week 4.

Overall a solid training day. Feet just ached a little while running. No pain before or after. Dropped a 12 second 100 at the end of the cool down in the morning cuz me n Luke were screwing around.

Easy 8. Was getting in the first 5 with the team so I dropped it down to 6:15. Yeah that was cool.

Easy 10. Junkyard with the team. Beasted the final 2 miles and kicked it way down. It was awesome, and hurt a lot. Foot still hurts for the first mile-ish nothing serious tho.

Easy miles. Little to no foot pain. Weights after the 5 miler in the morning. Rather sore.

Tired drained dehydrated hot hilly. All around slow and dreadful. Huge mental breakthrough at the end of it but it nearly cost me consciousness. 10.5 past Halsey's house. Probably drank a half gallon of water on the run. And that's what saved me.

Once my legs got moving this night run was incredible. I was stuck in a car for 10 of the past 24 hours and it was mostly me driving. Salt lake trip to the medical examiner (just for remembrance). Dropped below 7 minute pace for the last 2.5ish and below 6 for the last mile. And that was up main street. I was hardly breathing. Very very exciting run although my form might need improving. Foot strike and knee lift seem off. No residual effect from weights.
